Spencer Wilder
A large part of my life has been spent working within the broad spectrum of the term 'art'. Initially I started my career in the late 1980s as a political folk singer/songwriter signed to both Arena Management and Earth Record Production Ltd. I released two CDs on the Earth Label and toured the UK extensively. I have appeared on the BBC and Channel 5 - promoting both my music and grass root politics - and also in many newspapers. I have been a published poet having an anthology released by Maiden Books in 1995. After retiring from music in 2005 I turned to my love of painting to generate extra income. I soon had portrait commissions requested of which I have completed around 30+ to date. I have now decided to take my love of art to the next level by completing various pieces of artwork for sale to the public. I like to work in the mediums of both oil on canvas and watercolour and generally produce works of 12" x 10" and 10" x 8" in size as I feel that within the confines of these sizes I can create intimacy, expression and thought provoking pieces of art that any potential buyer will hopefully question, evaluate and thereby emotionally conclude.
