After graduating in Fine Art from art college in the 1980’s Steph Kedik has lived in Norfolk and worked in the visual arts as an artist and arts educator. In the last couple of years she has returned to painting full-time and has developed a bold, distinctive style. She takes particular inspiration from the masters of modern art; notably Klee, Miro, Matisse and Picasso. The influences of Scandinavian ceramics and textile design, folk art and naive art can also be found in her work. Her works concentrates on her interests in plants, gardens and quirky still life arrangements. "I start with an idea but then always try to approach each new work with an inventive, playful attitude so that there are no barriers to what the painting or drawing can become once the first mark is made."
