Stephanie Rawkins gained a degree in Sculpture at Ravensbourne college of Art and Design followed by a further year at Goldsmiths.
On leaving, she set up a business designing and printing textiles for the rag trade, including such clients as Ossie Clarke, Jean Muir, Caroline Charles and designed and printed all the fabrics for George Harrisons mansion, Friar Park, Henley. Her fabrics have been seen in collections for Liberty, Harrods and Harvey Nichols and extensively used in the Burj Al Arab Hotel and the Jumeira Beach Hotel in Dubai.
During this time, she continued to develop her painting and has completed numerous commissions both here and abroad.
She says of her work," Consciously thinking too much whilst I'm working on my art seems to lose its soul. I have to follow the lead of the work itself. It tells me how it wants to develop. It's usually right. I just love the adventures I get drawn into. Can't stop."
