I am a self-taught artist living on the outskirts of Plymouth – not far from Dartmoor. I grew up in SE London, moving to Cornwall in 1982. However - I only started started painting in late 2008. I am predominantly 2D visual art – mainly acrylic on canvas. I also create drawings, experiment with print-making and collages. I feel incredibly lucky that despite my late start as an artist ( it took me until the age of 49 to decide what I wanted to do ) I have had a decent level of success and recognition. Solo exhibitions 2010 – Bistro One, Plymouth Group exhibitions / displays 2009 – Gallery Guesthouse, Plymouth. Duchy Square Centre for Creativity, Princetown. 2011 – Art’s Birthday art-market, Plymouth and pop-up gallery (Plymouth City Council Arts Unit) Public art commission 2010 - Selected and commissioned to provide image (“Argyle Man”) for Big Blueprint project ( curators Plymouth City Art Unit, Museum and Art Gallery, BBC SW, Plymouth City Centre Company) : banner on back of big-screen in Plymouth city-centre. Community Arts 2010-11 – involved with the facilitation of the fringe event supporting the British Art Show 7 which is in Plymouth from September to December 2011. Press and media Various print and broadcast media appearances relating to empty shops/pop-up galleries , Big Blueprint; featured picture of day on 2 occasions in Plymouth Evening Herald, feature interview in Herald. Live apperances on BBC Devon and subsequently featured in BBC in-house magazine Arial. Sales and commissions I have sold work in Plymouth, across the UK, Channel Islands and Canada, and am currently in discussion with a gallery in New Jersey. I would describe my art as something akin to Outsider Art - having no formal training and absolutely no regard for what is currently trendy or fashionable. I plough my own furrow - scattering bright colours and ideas wherever I go on the canvas,
