Artist Stuart Dalby

I trained as a carpet designer which entailed going to art college for three years part time while I worked in the studio with a mentor. I always wanted to paint and I pursued this dream by painting in my spare time. Now I'm able to paint full time. I love painting human beings in all situations and that is what I set out to do with my paintings shown here. I lean to the erotic and the emotional expression of people. For inspiration I use photographs that I have made of men and women over the years, artists reference books and live models when I can find them. I attend regular life drawing sessions to firm up the discipline of portraying the human body. I am always open to painting suggestions providing they are made through: Artgallery.co.uk.
