 I studied Art and Design in London in the 1970's and from there started a career in Interior Design, Textiles and Graphics. I went on to develop an interest in esoteric studies and qualified as a practitioner of vibrational medicine and use colour as one of my key healing modalities. My Silk Artwork unites my love of textiles, light and colour. I use Habotai 8 silk and dyes, as opposed to paints, as they create a depth and intensity of colour that I strive for and use chinese brushes as they hold sufficient dye to cover large areas yet provide a brush point suitable for fine work. To fix the dyes I steam the silks which further intensifies the finished colours. For me silk painting has unique characteristics and holds a fascination of its own, it allows the creation of subtle colour transitions and stunning effects as the dyes slowly move through the body of the fabric.
