Artist Susy Brigden

My work is firmly rooted within the English landscape. I separate the painting process into distinct stages: drawing, paying attention to form, rhythm and counter rhythm; shapes and the distribution of light and dark and finally, the application of colour. I work in acrylic paints and sometimes use pastel or wax crayons as well. Recently my work has become more abstract and I have become interested in mixed media
