I am a self-representing, self-taught artist based in Newcastle, United Kingdom, currently studying postgraduate degree in Marketing. I completed a bachelor's degree in Communication Arts at the University of the East, Manila Philippines.
I was born on 29 December, 1981 and raised in the Philippines. I started painting at the age of 8, as far as I can remember, inspired by my eldest brother and continued exploring until finally took chances to collect and exhibit online. I participated in some academic art-making contests and have won major awards thus boosting my self-confidence.
As a beginner, I started with the basic media such as pen and crayons, watercolours and eventually oil paints. At the same time, having a family business engaged in handicraft manufacturing, I had significant works involving sculptures of different media such as glass, metal and some indegenous materials as well as glass etching.
I dont follow a specific rule in painting. I paint whatever I think is interesting, whatever I think people will like. Old famous works of masters inspire me a lot however I wanted to establish my own genre. Currently I am working on a collection of a mixed styles using abstract, cubism and realism combined creating a digtally enhanced image of different contrasts and colours for a modern and contemporary looks.
Recently, I attempted to formally give my talent a foundation by taking a Fine Arts Degree. I was summoned to present my works at York St. John University and was initially offered a place for course in MA Fine Arts which later on was withdrawn as I was being asked to take the part-time rather than the full-time which I did not accept. Now I am taking my endeavour to move further and live to create more art and I am overwhelmed by the people's appreciation to my pieces.
