Hello, my name is Teresa Tarling and I started drawing and painting animals when I was a child. I have a real passion for animals, my main love is for horses and dogs, but I enjoy painting any animal. I am self taught and turned professional in 2004. I had always used oils or pencil in my work, but a few years ago tried soft pastels for the first time, and feel this was the medium I had been looking for. I live on a remote smallholding in the beautiful Cambrian Mountains in West Wales, with our Irish setters, Cocker Spaniel plus many other pets. I find the outlook from my studio over the wild local countryside gives me inspiration for the backgrounds of many of my paintings. I have carried out commissions for many people including both Arab and Welsh Cob studs.
