While growing up in County Durham I developed a strong interest in design. I developed this interest by experimenting with different art forms and techniques. I went on to study Graphic Design as a National Diploma at New College Durham as well as Photography as a City and Guilds Award. I enjoyed studying both practices and went on to complete a BA in Graphic Design at The Surrey Institute of Art and Design, where I developed my design skills and enhanced my photographic knowledge.
After university I worked for a well known portrait company and developed my photographic and communication skills as well as my digital knowledge. Alongside my regular work I developed a personal portfolio working with models to advance my photographing technique while shooting on location.
Throughout my studying and working life I have always looked for beautiful photographs and in my spare time love to photograph inspiring images. I find beauty in the natural and manmade world all around me and I am passionate about capturing it in a photograph for others to enjoy.
Through studying and my personal work I have developed a strong style, which makes my work noticeable and gives my imagery a unique look. I use my graphic design skills to create strong photographic images. While I work I look at colour, composition and shape to create a dynamic look. I use digital techniques to enhance my work and make each piece special.
