Born in Pontypridd, South Wales, Chris has always been interested in the creative aspects of life, but it wasn’t until he attended art college that he would learn to work with a robust range of mediums and experiment with mark making. From here he moved to Cardiff to pursue his studies in Graphic Communication and was commissioned to produce artwork which helped him through his studies.
Always moving on to new hobbies and interests outside of his art is something Chris has found quite irritating when trying to pin down his style with his artwork, but he now uses this to his advantage by subtly including these interests into his work, in some shape or form. He compares his style of work to that of an intricate tattoo artist, using similar techniques, such as whip-shading, to build up textures, depth and tones. Artgallery rating
