Artist Tim Richards

Tim Richards was born in Northampton and studied at the Northampton School of Art under the tutelage of the late Henry Bird. This uncompromising tutor instilled in Tim a tremendous appetite and discipline for drawing the human figure from life and also became a great influence in his later work. Tim is also a sculptor and during the 1960's was employed by the Mettoy Company as a toy designer and was also part of the design team responsible for producing the innovative and now classic range of corgi toys, the most well known of which is probably the James Bond Aston Martin. Tim later became a co-founder of a small company called Phoenix Models, of Earls Barton and produced originals for collectors around the world
