I produce work with a strong narrative element. All of my work begins with a photographic basis. In my paintings I combine digitally manipulated photographs, printed on delicate tissue paper, with a variety of artist and domestic materials, including acrylic and oil paint, bleach and glue, to produce an ethereal and textural quality on canvas.
Additionally, I use digital photography and moving image stills in their own right and as source material for large scale charcoal drawings, creating art from lived experiences. Lived experience is also the inspiration for my "social art projects" involving members of often contrasting social groups in collaborative and ultimately creatively productive interactions.
I completed my BA (Hons) in Visual studies in 1990 and am currently studying for a Masters Degree in Fine Art and have exhibited in both group and solo shows across the UK.
