Painting is a relatively new creative outlet for me: writing or handicrafts have always been my 'thing'. Recently however I realised that I am able to produce simple artworks that people seem to like. Abstract is perhaps my favourite style, due to the freedom it lends, but I also love the rich effects that impressionism can achieve. Above all I aim to create art which is fresh, uncontrived, and not 'over thought'. It really is an emotional pursuit rather than a technical one.
My academic studies did not include the arts (Animal Behaviour, Wildlife Biology), but have encouraged an emphasis on nature in my art. It is my reverence for the natural world which inspires me to paint.
