Artist Tracy Watt

Working as a figurative painter for many years I have built up a National exhibition profile, a highlight being winning first prize in the Chichester International Open in 2005. As well as being invited to show in group exhibitions I have also had a number of solo exhibitions. In 2002 I graduated from the University of Hull with a Master of Arts Degree in Painting. My work looks at retelling Biblical, Mythological and Literary tales from a modern female perspective. Stories which have been used by artists throughout art history. In particular the Rennaisance and Mannerists. I am interested in the aesthetics and the contextual symbolism found in the paintings from these eras.
