I have been interested in art since a young age and have always drawn and painted on and off over the years purely for pleasure. Sometimes, however, life gets in the way of hobbies and these take a back seat for a while. My interest in art was revived after attending a mixed media art course last year and, in light of some very positive feedback from teachers and fellow students, I was encouraged to pursue my interest in art further.
After experimenting with different media, I decided to focus my work on pencilled drawing, in particular as I like the interplay between light and dark, and find it fascinating to experiment with tone, shadow and light. At present I am keeping things, I believe, at their most simplistic by using pencil and paper although I have been commissioned to create two murals. At present most of my sketches have an eastern influence.
