I started painting in 2000 during a time of depression, and I have been painting ever since. I am a self taught artist and still learning. I mainly use oils to paint now but when I was starting I used watercolour and arylics. Oil is the medium that allows me to express what I think and see on oil paper, board and canvas. Darkness and Light are a big part of my life, struggles with the light and wars with the darkness. I have come to realise that the darkness shows up the light and the light highlights the darkness. For a period of time all I could see was darkness and not much light but as my title suggests life is to be lived to the full and always in colour not just black and white this lesson has been painstakingly learnt over the years. I love to paint seacapes and landscapes quiet rough and ready but I tend to find that it brings out the best that I have to give.
