Yola Quinn came into the world in one of the cities of South Africa, Natal, in 1972, where she lived in the dramatic beauty of the African countryside. Her father was a professional landscape and floral artist and therefore was surrounded by artistic inspiration thought her childhood.
She was successfully admitted to the Naval University of Technology where she studied Fine Art and developed as an artist, acquiring the proficiency in both painting and ceramics. After graduating from the university she worked as a tutor and established her own private art studio (2002 to 2007) and featured in many exhibitions.
In 2008 she relocated to the UK to live with her husband, a sculptor, Graeme Quinn and now lives in Stroud.
Yola is an artist with 10 years experience. She has held several solo exhibitions in prestigious galleries across the UK and was also shortlisted for the Chichester National Art Competition. Yola was the prizewinner of the ‘North of the Wall’ exhibition in Newcastle, in 2008. She mainly draws her inspiration and ideas from the beauty of the African nature, her native land.. Her professional touch of a brush smeared in the oil paint, meticulous and undivided attention to each, even the smallest, detail makes it possible for her to develop and create deep and epic masterpieces that are to the brims full of feelings and emotions, sometimes positive and at times negative, but all sophisticated, intangible and vivid at the same moment.
“My paintings are reflections of my continual interactions with the world around me and within me. All that inspires, mystifies and enchants”, - Yola Quinn.
