Artist Zowie Taylor

I was always encouraged to express myself creatively from as far back as I can remember by my late Grandmother, who was fantastically talented in many ways. I am self taught, I take inspiration from my life, my loves and people who have inspired me. I experiment with texture and colour, try to incorporate my own twist into new styles using mostly acrylics and pastels. Many of my works are born with an emotional tie and I hope they portray this depth when they speak with their own story. I have a style which I like to keep 'rough' as I feel this gives character to each piece. For a long time I strove to have my artwork perfect but obviously nothing can ever be 'perfect' and nothing would ever be individual if it was! As you can see I have a zillion different styles within my portfolio.. I like to be unpredictable in what I create and I am forever trying new things to broaden my experience with the different media I use.

A couple of years or so ago I re-acquainted myself with my creative side making paintings for friends and family as gifts. This lead to a couple of commissions and in the last year I have been encouraged to try and show my work. So here goes, I hope you enjoy my artwork as much as I have enjoyed the journey creating them. Thank you!
