Growing opportunities to buy art online

The marketplace in the UK for buying art online is growing rapidly, says Gordon Smith, director of artgallery.co.uk.

We're seeing more and more people from all walks of life getting into the excitement of affordable art - some in the hope that their purchase will grow in value.

What's more, there are now more opportunities for artists, including painters and sculptors, to sell their wares online, with new online art galleries springing up.

One of the fastest growing sectors for this is art for offices and workplaces. It is well known that savvy employers like to provide original artworks for offices because not only does it make the place look pretty, it also makes employees feel valued and respected.

However, busy bosses in small companies rarely have luxury of time available to visit local galleries to buy art, so they are turning to online art galleries. Art is available for all budgets and all tastes. Abstract landscapes and seascapes are particularly popular, as they tend to be quite calming - necessary in today's stressed out office environments.
