Artist Doug Hyde has been named as the most popular living artist in the UK. Doug Hyde is well known for his feelgood images of huge smiley faces, cuddly bears, dogs, cosy and romantic imagery.

Doug's work is a far cry from what has been traditionally considered great art in the past. His work has even attracted criticism from some quarters, especially the artistic elite. But that hasn't stopped the British public from buying into the Doug Hyde "experience" with great enthusiasm.

Doug Hyde may well be the UK's first artistic "pop star", with the photogenic Hyde himself being the focus of catalogues available in high street galleries through the country. Hyde's originals are changing hands for large sums, and his replica sculptures in porcelain and bronze are also being well received by the buying public.
