Inspired by the book of the same name by Pearl S Buck, about a familys life in Rural China in(I think) late 1800s -early 1900s, and how important the earth and its cycle was to their lives. It is an impressionist style landscape, multi hues with colours ranging from deep reds to soft blue greens and pale yellows. It consists of many layers drawn together and parts lifted out to show underlayers. As always I have touched areas with highlights of copper and gold.
It is framed in a deep green mount, with gold narrow inner and a glazed metallic style frame in pewter
