Description of artwork This painting took me a long time to complete - returning to it and making changes for nearly 12 months before I was happy with it. The underpainting was done in acrylic over tissue paper onto a box canvas and then the final coat of oil paint was applied fairly thickly with pallet knife and brush. The Title came to represent my struggle to achieve a balance between realism and abstraction.
