The painting title describes the small back road looking north to Grasmere from Skelwith Bridge, near Ambleside in the beautiful Lake District. I painted it from sketches made during a short stay at a campsite near Loughrigg Tarn, which is near by. I like painting old cottages as they seem particularly at ease and comfortable in their surroundings. This one was nestled amongst trees and rock strewn fields, on an unusually fine Lakeland day with the Langdale Pikes mountain range appearing in the background. This landscape painting is an original watercolour painted on acid free 100% cotton rag and has a quality 3" ivory double mount ready for framing. This, in effect makes the image 6" wider and taller than the Test Drive image.
