Description of artwork Is this woman giving the empty room one last glance or has she just arrived? The formal black dress and upright posture are seemingly at odds with the barrenness of the space. Each viewer can imagine their own set of circumstances for this rather haunting figure. My own interest was in creating a sense of solitude and introspection.
