I was attracted by the sense of warmth and tranquillity coming from this scene of tomatoes ripening, in the sun, against the old stone wall. The colours and tones I saw are those that give me much pleasure to reproduce. As I worked, I became eager to capture the roundness and glow of the fruits in the sunshine.
