This is the first of a series of paintings depicting close-ups of musical instruments. The colour and richness of materials used by makers, as well as the obvious love musicians have for their own instuments, was the main reason for my choice of this subject matter. My own double-bass would be the first thing I would grab in case of fire ! (Other instuments to follow shortly)
