The unusual tower of this church is a "Tour Fenestrelle". This is an open structure which houses the bells. It is the only part the medieval structure to survive, although it was previously two storeys taller. Uzes is the site of the spring which was used by the Romans to provide fresh water to Nimes (25 Kilometres to the South West). To do so they had to build the famous, Pont du Gard
