The old town of Dubrovnik has suffered many earthquakes and it was besieged in 1991 during the Yogoslav Civil War. Much of the town was destroyed but with the help of UNESCO, after only 7 years, this beautiful medieval town was restored to its former glory. It's one of those "must see" places
