Highly textured, almost sculptural collage composed of acrylic on canvas plus cardboard, tissue paper, sand, texture pastes and ink. The sides of the canvas are painted, so it's ready to hang. Hand-signed by the artist.
Inspired by a real cave in the Sahara desert (a fictionalised version is featured in 'The English Patient'), the walls of which are covered in prehistoric paintings. It's thought that a river once flowed nearby, inspiring the depiction of people swimming despite being in the middle of the desert.
