Postage Stamp Collage--- This work is a diptych created as a tribute to Lichtenstein who painted ‘Whaam’, depicting the emblematic image of an American fighter plane swooping down to blast the enemy out of the skies with a rocket. Now with the involvement of America and Britain in further war and conflict Pete wanted to ask why in contemporary life warfare and violence continue. This is a question as pertinent today as it was in 1963 when Lichtenstein created his work.
