Description of artwork This joyful and summery work evokes the lazy afternoons of a French holiday. The sky is a bright blue, the flowers and plants are in full bloom and the stone of the cottage soaks in the heat. This work is based around an original photograph which has been blended into the painting. The canvas is roughened with painted over fragments of paper and impasto to give it a rich texture.
