Description of artwork This unusual box canvas has a 45 degree bevel on the outside, giving the impression of a block of stone. on the face of this 'block' is the Maya glyph for 'air', on the top is 'chan' or sky and the lower edge is 'cab' meaning earth. the sides are decorated in the style of the Maya 'world tree' that stretched from the underworld to the heavens.
