This painting featured as one of the many artworks in Vikki Hastings' "Another Kind Of Love" Exhibition, hosted by the artist in Kilmarnock.
This series of paintings is both a comment and a celebration of the idea of a relationship. The work intends to capture one simple, yet beautiful moment that takes place throughout the entirety of being a 'couple'. An exploration and an adventure of each other. These paintings create an environment where a relationship could be successful, but as well as a positive comment, these works are also about what the painting does not describe; the idea that most relationships do not embrace the elusive 'happily ever after' concept, and in fact, are short-lived/temporary. The idea that people do not belong together. People are individual, and are therefore designed to survive solo.
