Even before being honoured with an artist residence in Regent's Park I was inspired by the beauty of London parks, including (rugged in places, but just as beautiful) Holland Park. In 2000 I was awarded the first price during their annual exhibition for 'Expressing the Essential Spirit of Holland Park'. When not working on my other projects I love to go back to the subject and this painting is one of series. The colours and the wilderness are reflected in a much more expressive composition than my usual Regent's Park (the majestic) paintings. The painting is exactly 120cm x 100cm and it is not framed, however because it is painted round the sides, the frame is not necessary.
