'Cantre'r Gwaelod Blue Delta North' is a large painting, oil on canvas. Expressive and semi abstract, it represents the North Welsh coastline & top part of Cardigan Bay, the site of the legendary Welsh 'Atlantis', Cantre'r Gwaelod. In the broadest sense, it's subject is the shifting and changing profile of land and sea, or areas silting up and areas flooding. I am interested in the geology of the bay area as well as the legend. This painting, and the series that it is part of, is also influenced by satellite images showing the movement of photoplanktons in the oceans, and the movement of clouds and of pollution around the globe.
This is a dramatic, colourful image which would make a statement in any large room. Unframed.
