This is an original painting of Rye Nature Reserve, on the East Sussex/Kent coast signed by the artist (myself) E.King.
In the distance you can see the lifeboat house which is a beautiful landmark overlooking the sea beyond. In the foreground is teasel, of which there are thousands in this part of the English coast. All around for miles you can see shingle - it's hard to imagine just how much of it there is and how far down under the surface is pure shingle. This is one of my favourite parts of the country and we visit regularly as a family.
This painting has been done using acrylics and texture paste on a black gesso-treated canvas measuring 16x16" with a depth of 1.5" (or 41x41cm with a depth of 4cm). The sides are black and the pre-stretched canvas is ready to hang as it is.
