The underpainting was done in Acrylic which provides a lovely coloured surface to work on which then becomes an important part of the composition development. Kirkcarrion is situated along the Pennine Way above Middleton in Teesdale, and is a climb to get there but worth it. We visited in the afternoon of December 31st last year in a personal act of remembrance, and these paintings began to appear on january 2nd. The painting is ready to hang and will arrive with a simple floating pine frame
