Swans mate for Life, Their loyalty to their mates is so storied that the image of two swans swimming with their necks entwined in the shape of a heart has become a nearly universal symbol of love. i have used white Winsor & Newton Cotman Watercolour Paper as it allows light to reflect off its surface which gives the transparent watercolor paint a luminescent look. i like to leave sections of the paper to show through as a substitute for white. I have been working with a combination of brushes, sponges, knives and pencils To create texture, but smoothness and soft brush strokes, and harsh pencil marks, blended gently Palette colour choices are : purple, blue, pink, red, yellow, orange, white and black After I complete a watercolor painting on paper, I seal it with 3-4 light coats of Acrylic sealor. I don't like the finish of the matte coating as it dulls the colors and makes them look lifeless
