Lindisfarne is one of the Farne Islands off the North East coast of England. It can be reached at low tide across a causeway. Lindisfarne Castle is on the highest point of the Island and was built to resist a potential French invasion. The original causeway was marked out by posts, these are shown in the picture and help to lead you in. The picture is done in acrylic on a heavy canvas. It is unframed but could be hung directly from the stretcher.
