Woodwind
Sculpture by Alan Harris British artist, paintings, oils, watercolours, pastel, mixed media and sculptures, landscapes, portraits, nudes, expressionism, contemporary art, modern art, figurative paintings, abstract paintings, conceptual art.
The central piece of this sculpture is a 3 violin bow and a piece of bog wood, Adding discarded musical instrument to recreate the shape of the original. Using this objects as elements of this sculpture in the form to recuperate the life of the instrument, creating a new object that include old elements as metal, brass, copper and gold powder. The base is a piece of hard beautiful Oak Wood with aplications of copper.
I created these sculptures by using broken or otherwise discarded objects, to give them new or continued life by reworking them as works of art. using Kintsukuroi, to not only repair, but also to celebrate the initial damage with golden emphasis. My work was inspired by knowledge of this art, and a desire to preserve the past, like most of my figurative work. This is a totally unique piece as every part is unique in its own but the viewer will see a new interpretation as partt of a new object of art
