A view often seen in the Outer Hebrides and the Atlantic coast line of Scotland which is home to 90% of European seals. The grey seals breed in the Wadden Sea. Islands and mud flats stretching from Denmark and Holland to Germany. When the fur of the young has become waterproof they return to the Atlantic coast of Scotland. This painting depicts a normal view in the islands. I have used the impasto technique on the cliffs and rocks to make this a tactile painting. It is framed in white to enhance the subject and has a hanging wire on the back also an alternative fitting.
