Summer Dissolving is a 48x36x1.5 inches oil on canvas abstract landscape painting of a Sussex summer wildflower meadow with swallows. This painting was inspired by walking around in summer fields at the end of August near Pulborough in Sussex. The painting spans through dark outer edges of dark greens, blues and purples to give the appearance of zooming into a portal from another place. It shows a view across a field with very colourful abstract flowers and wheat fields through to trees and a glimpse of a lake in the background. To the left are three swallows flying swiftly over the flowers and merging in and out of the landscape casting patterns and wispy shapes that suggest motion and the transience of summer.
