Description
Ascension – Spring (Stag)
This original wall piece forms part of Ascension, an ongoing body of work exploring growth and inner change through seasonal symbolism. The stag represents spring — not as outward action or renewal, but as a moment of awakening: a pause where awareness returns and something larger is recognised.
The figure is shown looking upward in a moment of awe rather than dominance or movement. This upward gaze reflects the internal shift that often precedes growth — the point where pressure, responsibility or noise gives way briefly to clarity, humility, or wonder.
The work combines layered cut form with hand-applied alcohol ink, allowing colour and movement to emerge intuitively rather than through repetition or control. Each surface developed in response to the material itself, making this a true one-off piece.
Standing at approximately 155 cm tall, the scale is intentional, designed to create presence and invite stillness rather than function as a decorative accent.
This piece is unique and will not be repeated.
