Glowing rocks at El Capitan and Yosemite Watercolours

This new quite large original watercolour was painted from photos and sketches made some years ago during wonderful visit to Yosemite National Park in California.
El Capitan the mountain on the left rises more than 3000 feet above the valley floor and is a truly remarkable sight, as are all the mountains there.
The Yosemite waterfall cascades down around 2400 feet!
A recent sale of a similar but smaller watercolour inspire me to revisit this scene from our travels in the USA.

It is hard to get a sense of the grandeur of this valley but my aim has been to try to give a little sense of the view that confronts the visitor
