Ouse Fen - Summer Sky Oil

Contemporary Impressionism.

This amazing sky over the RSPB Ouse Fen nature reserve just had to be painted. I completed a small watercolour sketch on location which I used to help me re-create this beautiful scene back in the studio. I've used very loose brush strokes and kept the sky the focal point. It was a very quiet day with not many bird sightings but the dramatic lighting and sky made up for this.

The painting continues around the edge so framing is optional, signed on the front and back, varnished and accompanied with a certificate of authenticity.
