Baby Crow Mixed Media

This original consists of a parent crow and its chick brought to life using watercolour paint alongside plants in acrylic paints. The bold, abstract background and streaks of colour have also been produced using acrylics. The chick's energy is chaotic sprouting in every direction while the fully grown crow circles above embodying control and an unwavering protective nature, represented by the strokes of acrylic, its movement cast across the sky. I chose to paint the background with both an intense red representing the unjust stereotypes of malice against these intelligent birds, and a more delicate pink reflecting their affectionate nature and loyalty.
