Description
This original piece is an ethereal, whimsical impressionist interpretation of the exoplanet WASP-193b, famously nicknamed the 'Cotton Candy' planet. Located roughly 1,200 light-years from Earth, this gas giant is 50% larger than Jupiter but seven times less massive, giving it a density so low it is comparable to the sugary treat found at a fairground.
I wanted to capture this scientific wonder in a majestic, storybook style. Using a pastel palette of pinks, peaches, and soft blues, I have layered the clouds to create a misty, textured atmosphere that glows against the deep purples of the surrounding galactic nebulae. This painting celebrates the intersection of astronomical discovery and dreamlike imagination.
