Description
A vibrant impressionist watercolour and acrylic ink painting inspired by the late summer landscapes of the Fens near Ely, Cambridgeshire.
My daily walks across the Fenland countryside allow me to witness the subtle beauty of each changing season. Here, the delicate cow parsley has faded to elegant seed heads that dance above the hedgerows, while the golden barley fields have been freshly harvested, revealing the wide-open landscape beyond. Soft afternoon light bathes the fields as distant storm clouds gather along the horizon, creating a striking contrast between the warmth of late summer and the promise of rain. I sought to capture both the tranquillity and the fleeting drama of this familiar landscape through luminous colour, expressive brushwork, and flowing lines.
Painted with professional Winsor & Newton and Schmincke watercolours together with acrylic ink on Etival 140lb watercolour paper.
The painting measures 11.5 x 15.5 inches and is presented with a 16 x 20-inch off-white mount card, ready for framing.
A Certificate of Authenticity, signed by myself, accompanies each original painting.
The artwork will be carefully flat-packed and dispatched promptly by Royal Mail Tracked 48.
