With this piece, I wanted to play around with bold contrasts and rich textures. It has a really striking mix of bright primary colors like fiery reds, deep yellows, and vivid blues, all heavily layered with dark, moody blues and deep greens that slice through the middle.
I used a scraping and layering technique to build up a lot of visual depth, and if you look closely, there is a fine spray of white flecks across the top that gives it a bit of a cosmic, starry feel. The heavy paint texture catches the light beautifully depending on how it's hung.
